My Story
Hey, I’m Lucy! My journey with mental health began long before I even understood what anxiety or depression were. Growing up, I struggled with confidence and anxiety, though I had no name for these feelings. It wasn’t until my late teens, when everyday activities like driving or shopping felt too much, that I reached out for help. I vividly remember calling the doctors, crying uncontrollably, not knowing what was wrong but knowing I needed some help.
After speaking with a Doctor, I was diagnosed with severe anxiety and depression. That was the first time I had heard either word and I had no idea where to begin. Though counselling gave me initial tools, I didn’t notice a huge difference in how I was feeling. I decided to learn more about mental wellness myself. I read every book, tried every technique, from mindfulness and meditation to journaling, exercise, and sleep routines. Slowly, I built a toolkit that helped me to handle anxiety, panic and low moods.
Over the years, this toolkit has become a core part of my daily routine, bringing me to a place of calm I never thought possible. My life today is largely free from panic attacks and depression, thanks to these practices that have become as natural as brushing my teeth.
I created Calm Resources so that you don’t have to go through this alone. Here, you’ll find a collection of tools, workbooks, and journals designed for both adults and children. My goal is to provide resources that make mental wellness approachable, practical and accessible, so that every child and adult can have the support and knowledge they need. I truly hope these resources help you to find a life of calm, like I have.
